Super Bowl Game Pulled In 113 Million Viewers, But Was Topped By Rihanna’s Performance

Rihanna took to the Super Bowl Halftime show yesterday, much to the joy of her fans. The beauty and lingerie mogul took a break from building her empire, and family, to give a show-stopping performance of her biggest hits. While many applauded her ability to tackle such a massive stage after years away, and pregnancy, not everyone was impressed. Her biggest critic, former president Donald Trump.

Rihanna has been very critical of Trump in the past. The Bajan singer even spray painted a car with “f*** Trump” in 2020. Many Republicans have not been fans of her since, with congressman Ronny Jackson taking to social media days before her performance to question why she was even allowed to take one of America’s biggest stages. “Why is the NFL showcasing this crap? Rihanna SHOULD NOT be the halftime performer!!” Jackson wrote. Donald Trump took to social media with his own review of Rihanna’s set, and he was not pleased. “EPIC FAIL: Rihanna gave, without question, the single worst Halftime Show in Super Bowl history — This after insulting far more than half of our Nation, which is already in serious DECLINE, with her foul and insulting language,” he Tweeted.

Kodak Black echoed Trump’s sentiments, posting a video of himself at the show saying that “Uncle Trump” was unhappy. Fans in the comments were not here for any Rihanna slander from Trump or Kodak Black. “That’s not our uncle,” said one person. “I’m tired of this platform amplifying and normalizing anti-blackness,” said another. Instead, fans have doubled down with their support of Rihanna and helped make her set one of the most watched in the NFL’s history.

According to some reports, while the Super Bowl pulled 113 million viewers, Rihanna’s halftime set clocked in at over 118 million views. In addition to this, Rihanna has made a killing in sales of her accompanied merch and halftime themed beauty products. This included shirts that read, “Rihanna concert interrupted by a football game, weird but whatever.” Cara Delevingne modeled it from the side of the field, lifting it up to reveal a picture of Rihanna on the inside of the shirt as well.

Rihanna also plugged some f her product mid performance, stopping to reapply foundation before “All of The Lights.”
