Details Surrounding Notorious B.I.G.’s Passing Continue To Change Nearly 26 Years Later

Notorious B.I.G. has been gone for almost 26 years now. The Brooklyn rapper has left a lasting legacy of music and moments for fans. Many continue to wonder why he was taken so young and who was behind his final moments. As investigations have unfolded over the years, several details about the incident that claimed his life have changed.

While most of the general knowledge surrounding B.I.G’s case has come out over the years, fans might be surprised to know that it took 15 years for his autopsy to be released. CNN covered its release in 2012, calling it one of Los Angeles “best-known” unsolved cases. Biggie, born Christopher Wallace, was 24 years old when he passed on March 9th, 1997. Biggie’s passing is believed to be heavily tied to the passing of Tupac Shakur and their ongoing East Coast/West Coast beef.

Some believe it was Suge Knight who authorized the hit and hired a man named Amir Muhammad to carry it out. Muhammad’s involvement was reportedly covered up by the LAPD because he was the godfather of officer David Mack’s children. Mack’s vehicle was the one Amir drove in the drive by, according to documents leaked. The reports also state that the original target was not Biggie but instead Sean Combs. Other reports claim that Suge hired a different man named Wardell “Poochie” Fouse. Fouse has known ties to Suge Knight and is said to have been hired to carry out the hit to avenge Tupac Shakur.

Gene Deal is one of Diddy’s former bodyguards and has opened up about the night of Biggie’s passing. Gene says it was not a drive by. “The witness tells you the car stood right there at the corner — the car was probably there all night.” Deal was present for Biggie’s final moments and held back tears as he reflected on the evening.
